Successful finale at home

Successful finale at home
When years of commitment are crowned by sporting success, it just feels good for both the active players and the supporters in the background. We at XSTAFF GmbH were once again able to convince ourselves of this last weekend: with a commanding 5:1 (2:0) victory in the final against the Mannheim HC, the women’s team of the Düsseldorf HC, which has been supported by XSTAFF as a main sponsor for years, won the 2022 indoor field hockey championship title.

A special highlight of the third indoor success after 2015 and 2019: For the first time, the triumph could be celebrated in Düsseldorf’s own hall, even if only in front of rather sparsely filled stands. After the thrilling 7:4 victory in the semifinals against the archrival Club an der Alster from Hamburg, it was again against the team from Mannheim in a remake of this year’s field field hockey final. Here, U21 international Sara Strauss was the outstanding player, scoring a hat-trick (13th/15th/41st minute) to give the team a 3-0 lead before Charlotte Gerstenhöfer (43rd) cut it short with a penalty corner. Elisa Gräve (51st) and Pia Lhotak (60th) then secured the third indoor title with their goals.

For Bodo Knop, chairman of the board of XSTAFF GmbH and one of the first congratulators after the final whistle, this is a remarkable success that benefits not only the club but also the sport itself: “In the current difficult situation, such successes motivate many people, precisely because they show that things are looking up again, albeit in small steps. If we as a company can play a small part in boosting this confidence with our sponsorship, our commitment is certainly worthwhile, even beyond the sporting success.”
